INDUCTION HARDENING HEAT TREATMENT
The induction hardening heat treatment allows the increase of the hardness of a steel part.
The process consists of heating the steel piece to a certain temperature, then cooling it using different techniques.
THE COOLING PROCESS
Cooling is a very important phase because tempering is the final process, obtaining the transformation of the
structure and therefore the hardening.
The cooling can be carried out with more or less intensity based on the heating temperature chosen during the first phase (relative to the type of steel being used).
This process can be carried out using different techniques, such as: water, oil, a mix of water and refrigerating oils, calm air, forced air.
Each of these methods listed will guarantee specific mechanical characteristics on the particular part.
